Hot off the press — here at Moving Waves, we have exciting news to share. We’re thrilled to be opening a brand-new location right at Archway! Offering Street Dance, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance, there is literally lots to get stuck into. Read below for more details plus information about the classes we’ll be offering!
Our new academy is conveniently located within easy commuting distance at Whittington Park Community Centre, Yerbury Road, Archway, London N19 4RS. Nearby tube and overground stops include Archway station and Upper Holloway.
We officially open our Academy the week commencing 24th. of September.
We’ll be offering Street Dance, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance. Classes take place Tuesday through Thursday.
Both our Street Dance and Musical Theatre classes are designed for children between the ages of four to ten, while our Contemporary Dance classes are for children aged seven to twelve.
First off, a big, warm welcome! We love to greet new students and give young people the opportunity to dance, sing and act. We love to encourage new talent. We offer a two-week trial for just £15, which includes unlimited classes to experience the full range of all that we have to offer.

Do you like to pop and lock, slam and brake? With our classes, you’re guaranteed to break a sweat! Street Dance delivers an amazing fusion of commercial, hip hop and house dance style. This style of dance will not only make you look super cool, it also emphasises teamwork, rhythm and choreography, allowing young people to express themselves in a fluid, fun and energetic way!
Do you have a budding actor with a great voice in your midst? Perhaps, a young Elsa or a budding Matilda? Alternatively, do you know a young Billy Elliot? Look no further than our Musical Theatre classes. From script work, voice work and acting, our classes provide the perfect blend of musicality, fun, dance and acting. Learn about musicals from both Broadway and the West End. We promise Musical Theatre has it all!
Based on a combination of jazz, lyrical, modern and classical ballet techniques, this is an expressive dance style that serves as a foundation for strong dance training and technique. Through contemporary dance, young dancers explore ways to express feelings, thoughts and stories, using fluid movement sequences. It’s an amazing, fun experience!
