Hey, everyone, listen up! Here at Moving Waves, we are offering a brand-new Youth Theatre in Haringey for children between the ages of five and seventeen. We offer something to suit everyone from the young thespian dreaming of trodding the boards and the theatrical performer who can sing dance and act through to young people who enjoy handcraft and decorative design. Maybe, your kid has no theatrical ambitions at all, but you want them to develop confidence and make friends. There’s space for everyone at our youth theatre!
Saturday Youth Theatre is the perfect place for your child to learn what they are passionate about and make friends as well as challenging them creatively. We offer great workshops in Drama, Musical Theatre and Arts and Crafts, all led by experienced professionals. Alongside youth theatre, we offer ballet, street dance, and contemporary dance.
Not sure what you want to sign up for? Worry not! We offer a two-week trial for £15 that lets your youngster try out youth theatre and any classes across our entire academy. This is a great chance to try us out and see what fits best! You can access the trial here. Read on to learn more about our Saturday Youth Theatre!
Maybe your teenager wants to be the next actor at the National? Perhaps, they want to learn how to make their own theatre or TV show? Alternatively, maybe you just want to give them the time and space to be creative. Drama is where it’s all at with participants getting the chance to make their own mixed-media piece.
At Moving Waves, we offer participants the opportunity to not only learn all about what it's like to be on stage but also on and behind the big screen. Mentored by industry professionals, this is the perfect opportunity to let loose and let your child become the actor they always wanted to be!
It could be that your young person fancies more of a combination. Perhaps, they want to develop skills in three different areas and become the next ‘triple threat.’ Dance, acting and singing are the three components that make up musical theatre. If your child enrols here, they will develop a broad understanding of Musical Theatre as well as learning some iconic songs from the West End and Broadway. Plus, it’s great exercise and fun!
Arts and Crafts are constantly evolving to respond to both the changing seasons and the needs of each group, so expect a range of different, fun activities week by week. For example, we recently used the beautiful, natural environment of our local Chestnuts Community Park to gather inspiration for our workshop, making great puppets, mask work, collages and more. Each week offers something new and the chance for you to decorate your home with your child’s beautiful works of art.
Getting involved in youth theatre promises to be a transformative experience. Learning theatre skills can change your child’s life and make them believe they are capable of anything. To join our Saturday Youth Theatre in Haringey, register now for a two-week trial here. Hurry, while places are still available! The trial starts from the very first session. We’re conveniently located at The Chestnuts Community Centre at 280 St Ann’s Road, London N15 5BN, a quick 15 minute walk from Seven Sisters Tube station.
